Lómagnúpur in the Mist - 13" x 19"

$85.00

Printed on MOAB Lasal Exhibition luster paper. The last few minutes of sunset light across a distant glacial tongue over the sentinel like ridge mountain Lómagnúpur in Southern Iceland.

Taken during the same hike as my Glacial Tongue Panorama, this photo was captured as I returned to my campervan, at the tail end of the hike. I am torn as to whether the mist in this shot is, as I assumed when I took it, mist rolling out across the barren stretch of pumice & sand from the massive glacier Skeiðarárjökul that stretches out magnificently just off the right side of this photo, or of a dust storm. The dust storms along the bleak stretch of Southern Iceland as you head west to get to Skaftafell are very intense. My camper van was battered by high wind and sand during several hours of the journey to the National Park. I believe still that this is mist rolling out to sea from the glacier, but it is quite hard to tell, and I know the wind in the region was heavy, even by Icelandic standards, so it is hard to say… but I do know that ‘Lómagnúpur in the Dust' didn’t quite have the same ring to it.

13” wide by 19” tall. Best matted and framed for 18” x 24” matted picture frame (not included). Contact me for custom matting/framing quotes.

Limited to 50 prints. Includes numbered & signed badge on the back of the image.
